Latte Letters

made with milk ♥

A handmade display font, traced from the loops and hearts I pour every morning. Brewed slowly, with whole milk.

section 02

how it was made

four steps. lots of milk.

  1. 01

    POUR & OBSERVE

It started behind a bar. Watching milk fall into espresso, I noticed the same shapes over and over — hearts, tulips, rosettas. Letters, almost.

    this is where it clicked

  2. 02

    SKETCH THE LOOPS

Drafted a whole alphabet by hand, trying to keep the wobble of a real pour. Every curve had to feel poured, not pushed.

    filled 3 sketchbooks ☕

  3. 03

    DIGITISE SLOWLY

Traced each glyph in vector, kept the imperfections, smoothed only what needed it. The goal: keep the human, lose the noise.

    this took forever lol

  4. 04

    BREW THE FONT

Spacing, kerning, ligatures — exported as a real font file you can install, type with, and (hopefully) love.

    ta-da ♥
